MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is en route to Mt. Juliet to investigate after a hotel caught fire Thursday afternoon.
The Mt. Juliet Fire Department said the fire happened at the Quality Inn & Suites near Herschel Drive. Firefighters believe the fire started on the south side of the building, prompting hotel guests and staff to evacuate.
Crews are currently pulling ceiling to make sure the fire did not extend to other areas of the building, according to investigators.
Officials said one firefighter suffered a minor hand injury, but was able to remain on duty and help extinguish the fire. No other injuries were reported.
The TBI is heading to the scene to do a full investigation.
