Person found dead after mobile home fire in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after first responders discovered a body inside a mobile home following an early morning fire in DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County Fire Department said crews responded to the mobile home fire shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the structure fully involved in flames and collapsed.

According to officials, personnel found a “deceased victim” inside the mobile home. No additional details have been released about the circumstances surrounding this individual’s death or their identity.

Members of the Four Seasons, Midway, Johnson’s Chapel, and Short Mountain stations reportedly responded to the blaze, in addition to DeKalb County Emergency Medical Services, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

The fire department said the sheriff’s department and the TBI are investigating the incident.
