Joseph “Joe” Glynn was accused of killing his wife on New Year’s Day and burying her in DeKalb County. Investigators said that Joe eventually laid out all of the details that led to the discovery of his wife, Jackie’s, body. It’s confession police say came days after a Silver Alert was issued for her.

Glynn showed little emotion in a Davidson County courtroom on Wednesday as he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. Moments after the plea, Jackie’s son Chad Folk stepped to the podium delivering an emotional statement on behalf of his family.

“I lost my best friend, my confidante, my inspiration and my role model,” Folk said on the stand. “I lost so much of myself. I lost trust in those around me as well as a lot of joy.”

Folk helped investigators find his mother using the Life360 social-networking app and tracked Joe’s activities. The app proved vital in uncovering a list of evidence in this case.

Joe’s attorney was not able to give a statement after Wednesday’s hearing. Joe’s charges included criminal homicide, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
