Chris Tucker Hints At ‘Rush Hour 4’ Following Extended Film Hiatus: ‘It’s Not Gonna Be What You’ve Normally Seen’

Chris Tucker is in a “rush” to get back to work!

During a recent interview with Atlanta radio station V-103, comedian Chris Tucker revealed his plans to revive his popular “Rush Hour” movie series as he promoted his latest role in Ben Affleck’s upcoming film “Air.” He also noted that, despite enjoying his years-long break from acting, he’s ready to be a workaholic again. Chris Tucker shared with radio hosts:

“I wanna work till I drop now. I traveled the world over and over again…now I’m ready to work. You’re gonna see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s gonna be on a whole ’nother level.”

Reportedly, Tucker has been on a hiatus for more than five years after he was last seen in “Billy Flynn’s Long Halftime Walk,” which premiered in 2016. Teasing the next installment of “Rush Hour,” the 51-year-old continued:

“That’s what I like about it, I’m excited about that, it’s not gonna be what you’ve normally seen. … Now, Rush Hour 4, that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there, ’cause I love working with Jackie. But I’ve got some new stuff I think y’all really gonna like.”

As you may know, the action comedy film debuted in 1998, grossing over $244 million globally. The film stars Jackie Chan and Tucker, who play crooked police officers assigned to rescue a Chinese diplomat’s kidnapped daughter. The sequel released in 2001 was filmed in Hong Kong while the third film was set in Paris and released in 2007. Reportedly, this isn’t the first time Tucker confirmed “Rush Hour 4.” In 2018 he said:

“Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it,” he added at the time.

Jackie Chan has also been vocal about working on “Rush Hour 4.” As previously reported, last December Jackie Chan, 68, was a guest at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia where he announced a meeting with the director to discuss the fourth installment of  “Rush Hour.”
