NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The chase to capture five suspects who allegedly shot at a Nashville detective ended overnight in Wilson County.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), a detective was surveying the area of Howerton Street and North 6th Street around 11 p.m. on Monday, June 24 when he was shot at.

Police said around 20 shell casings were found scattered across the area and the detective was not injured in the incident.

The shooters reportedly sped off in a stolen Infiniti and led officers on a pursuit to Wilson County.
A MNPD helicopter was able to track the suspect vehicle overhead and alerted the Mt. Juliet Police Department about the stolen Infiniti.
Mt. Juliet police said they were able to place spike strips on the I-40 exit onto Golden Bear Gateway.
After the vehicle was disabled, the suspects ran in a nearby wooded area but were quickly surrounded and taken into custody.
The Metro Nashville Police Department, Lebanon Police Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, and Tennessee Highway Patrol all assisted in bringing the suspects into custody.
All five men remain with the MNPD for further investigation, officials said. No other information was immediately released.
