NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities in Nashville and Chattanooga joined forces this weekend to capture a suspect accused of vehicle theft.
According to court documents, detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) were called to Madison on Saturday, June 15, to locate a stolen vehicle.
Detectives said they later found the vehicle traveling along Old Hickory Boulevard, and with the assistance of a helicopter unit, the vehicle was tracked on to Gallatin Pike North.
A traffic stop was made on the vehicle and detectives confirmed the vehicle was stolen after running the license plate through a database system, officials said.
Authorities reported the Chattanooga Police Department was able to identify the suspect as 34-year-old Mark Rollins.
Detectives said Rollins was driving the vehicle and claimed he was given the keys but “didn’t bring it back when he was supposed to.”
During a driver’s license check, officials said they learned Rollins license was revoked. He was taken into custody and charged with theft of a vehicle and driving on a revoked license.
Rollins remains jailed on a $10,500 bond.
