NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Severe storms are likely Tuesday for all of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
The Storm Prediction Center has put the majority of Middle TN and Southern KY under an Enhanced Risk (3/5) for Tuesday. However, even early Tuesday morning there could be a few strong storms north and west of Nashville where there is a Marginal Risk (1/5) in place now through 7 a.m. Tuesday.
However, the biggest concern comes Tuesday from late morning right into the evening.
All modes of severe weather are possible including damaging winds, hail, heavy rain, and tornadoes.
There is now an even greater risk for a few strong tornadoes (that is why the risk is now high), so now is the time to get a safety plan ready to go and have a way to get warnings.
There could be a few storms overnight into early Tuesday morning, but it looks like after lunchtime, the bulk of the strongest storms break out and continue through late evening.
The other story will be the strong winds. Damaging wind gusts are likely in and outside of the storms, so secure the patio furniture and holiday decorations now.
