Pop Smoke & Juice World – A.I. Technology Being Used To Create New Music For Late Rappers & Fans Are Shocked: ‘Scary How Good It Sounds’
The presence of artificial intelligence in the music industry continues to show its possibilities.
In newly surfaced videos, replicated voices of rap stars Pop Smoke and Juice Wrld were used to create new music, the tracks were reportedly generated using A.I. technology.
One of the surfaced clips features a record that could easily be mistaken for a true Juice Wrld track. The popular emo rap artist, real name Jarad Higgins, tragically passed away back in 2019. The coroner’s report said the musician died as the result of “toxic levels of oxycodone and codeine present in his system.” In the new song, which embodies the rapper’s emotional music style, A.I. manages to get eerily close to Juice Wrld’s distinct vocals, singing:
“I don’t even know what I’m on these days/I been feeling so many types of ways/Touring back and forth, been through 40 states/And you can’t even see what we got at stake.”
Another clip features a rendition of Ice Spice’s breakout hit Munch (Feelin’ You) performed by the late rapper Pop Smoke. If you recall, the New York native, born Bashar Jackson, was killed during a robbery in February of 2020. A TikTok user posted the clip of A.I. merging with Pop Smoke’s voice, giving a rather realistic cover of the song.

The topic of A.I. in music was met with extreme resistance around August of last year. As we reported, Capitol Records abruptly canceled a project that involved signing an A.I. rap character to a record deal following backlash. People labeled the computer-generated character named FN Meka as cultural appropriation and urged the music company to reconsider its partnership. Shortly after, Capitol released a statement writing:
“CMG has severed ties with the FN Meka project, effective immediately. We offer our deepest apologies to the Black community for our insensitivity in signing this project without asking enough questions about equity and the creative process behind it. We thank those who have reached out to us with constructive feedback in the past couple of days — your input was invaluable as we came to the decision to end our association with the project.”
However, it seems some fans may have a change of heart. Many reacted to the newly released video clips of Pop Smoke and Juice Wrld’s replicated vocals with surprise at how similar they sound to the true artists. Others, however, still remain adamant there’s nothing like the real thing.
