Police looking to identify people of interest in shooting of man near downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Do you know these men? If so, contact the police.

Homicide Unit detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) are working to identify two men wanted for questioning in the May 17th shooting of Darrius Bergeron.

The shooting happened at the intersection of Hart and Lewis Streets at around 1 a.m. At the time, police said Bergeron, 29, was seen by a witness approaching the passenger side of a white SUV just before the gunfire. Two SUVs then reportedly fled toward Trimble Street, according to Metro police.

Bergeron died at the scene. The motive remains under investigation, MNPD said.

Anyone who recognizes the two men in surveillance images is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
