Nicki Minaj Made An Unsuccessful Attempt To Sanction The Lawyer Of Her Husband Kenneth Petty’s Alleged Rape Victim, Who Reportedly Accused The Couple Of Being Gang Members
Rap star Nicki Minaj recently took a court loss.
Reports state that the “Ruby Da Sleeze” artist was recently denied a motion to sanction the lawyer of Jennifer Hough, who accused her husband Kenneth Petty of rape back in 1994.
In case you aren’t familiar with the situation, the story made headlines after Jennifer Hough from New York sued Onika ‘Nicki Minaj’ Maraj and her husband Kenneth Petty for harassment back in 2021. Hough claimed the world famous musician and her partner were pressuring her to recant rape allegations made against Petty in 1994. The harassment allegedly began after Petty was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California earlier that year, which is reportedly a direct result of the decades old conviction tied to Hough’s sexual assault accusation.
Allegedly, Hough claimed the pair tried to buy her off with $500,000 to drop the case. After allegedly denying it, the woman says the Petty’s “hired private detectives to track her down, harass her daughter, and force her to move between states out of fear for her life”. Hough eventually dropped the charges against Minaj reportedly due to jurisdiction reasons. Reportedly, Nicki retaliated by warring with Hough and her lawyer.
Apparently, Nicki claims the legal professional named Tyrone Blackburn as well as Hough made defamatory statements against her and her husband throughout the trial. Namely, the hip-hop star says Blackburn falsely stated to court judges the pair are apart of the New York gang Makk Baller Brims. Additionally, the lawyer claims he and Hough’s former lawyer were harassed and illegally contacted by affiliates of the Petty’s in attempts to get the lawsuit dropped. An accusation Nicki’s lawyer reportedly labeled “inexcusable and wholly unsupported.”

However, a court judge reportedly ruled that though the statements may be offensive, they are not sanctionable. Kenneth Petty and Jennifer Hough’s case is still ongoing.
