LSU Player Angel Reese Becomes Highest Valued Player In Women’s College Basketball After Her NIL Value Soars To $1.3M

Angel Reese is now the biggest name in women’s college basketball!

According to reports, the Louisiana State University basketball player has become the top-valued player in women’s college basketball after her NIL valuation — name, image, likeness — increased to $1.3 million. Among all female college athletes, Angel Reese is reportedly ranked third, coming in behind gymnasts Olivia Dunne and Sunisa Lee, both 20.

Before leading her team to their national championship victory, Angel Reese’s NIL value was reportedly set at $371,000. As you may recall, the LSU Tigers defeated the University of Iowa (102-85) earlier this month, winning their first NCAA women’s basketball national championship.

The 20-year-old sophomore reportedly averaged 23 points and 15.4 rebounds this past season. As previously reported, the “Bayou Barbie” made headlines for hitting her opponent Caitlyn Clark with John Cena’s famous “you can’t see me” hand gesture moments before taking the championship title.

Despite facing a little backlash for the gesture, it seems Reese was able to capitalize off of her competitive sportsmanship. Since the game, it’s been reported that her social media support has tripled, bringing her combined following to around 3.6 million. She’s also inked NIL deals with Calvin Klein, Bose and Coach.

When a white woman from Iowa, Caitlin Clark taunts the other team during a game it’s “funny” and “part of competition”.

When a black woman from Louisiana, Angel Reese, decides to do it back, she’s “not showing sportsmanship” and “disgusting”.

She is also capitalizing off her headlines by selling merchandise. Reese launched her brand “unapologetically me” which includes t-shirts, hoodies, phone cases, and more. Following her championship win, Reese told the press that throughout all her endeavors and growing popularity, she plans on staying true to herself.

She stated:

“All year I was critiqued about who I was. I don’t fit the narrative. I don’t fit in a box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. But when other people do it, y’all say nothing. So this was for the girls that look like me, that’s going to speak up on what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you. That’s (who) I did it for tonight. It was bigger than me tonight. It was bigger than me.”
