LL Cool J Set To Headline First Tour In 30 Years
Don’t call it a comeback, he’s been here for years!
On Tuesday (Apr. 25) LL Cool J announced that he will be headlining his first tour in 30 years!
“The F.O.R.C.E. Live” tour, which stands for Frequencies of Real Creative Energy, is set to begin in June with The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and DJ Z-Trip accompanying him on each of the 24 tour stops.
The tour will also be featuring some big names like Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah, Rakim, Common, MC Lyte, Method Man & Redman, Big Boi, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Ice T, and more in select cities!
As you may recall, LL Cool J and a slew of hip-hop heavy hitters performed together earlier this year at The Grammys in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of hip-hop. It looks like that star-studded performance may have sparked something even bigger.
LL Cool J said in a statement,
“I’m excited to be on my first arena tour in 30 years. It’s proof that our culture is more viable than ever. Get ready for some nonstop beats and rhymes. See you this summer!”
The rap star took to social media and shared a promotional trailer for the tour, which features him walking into an empty arena. He captioned the post:
“This is not a moment, it’s a movement. For my first Arena tour in 30 years, I am bringing you THE F.O.R.C.E. (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy.) @theroots, @ztrip & @djjazzyjeff will join me in the ultimate Hip-Hop mash-up with a legendary non-stop continuous set! “
The tour kicks off on June 25 in Boston, MA at TD Garden before stopping in cities such as Atlanta, Raleigh, Chicago, New Orleans, and San Francisco. It will close out on September 3 in Los Angeles, CA at Kia Forum. The tour consists of 24 stops throughout the country.
