Things are looking up for Latto!
Recent reports revealed that the Atlanta rapper is almost done with completing her one-year diversion program after a loaded firearm was discovered in her purse in a Los Angeles airport back in May 2021.
On Mar. 17, a Twitter user requested that Latto, real name Alyssa Michelle Stephens, detail the drama behind her arrest. She explained:
“Went to LAX w a loaded glock 17 in my Birk got locked & let out in a few hours lmaooo booked a $75k jet to my show in Alabama & still made it on time! no cap in my rap TUH.”
She also addressed the incident in her new song “Boom Pt. 2.” The 24-year-old raps:
“I got locked up in the airport, god d*mn forgot the gun.”
Reportedly, after Latto was charged with both carrying a loaded firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, she was mandated to a 12-month diversion program in April 2022. The requirements to complete the program reportedly include a gun safety course and 120 hours of community service.
The rapper must also stay clear of all weapons if she wants her charges to be dismissed this April.
