Ja Morant Sneakers Removed From Nike Site & App Following Second Team Suspension For Flashing Another Gun On Instagram Live

It looks like NBA star Ja Morant’s actions are catching up to him in more ways than one.

According to various sources, Ja Morant’s just-released Ja 1 shoes (which hit stores on April 19)  are nowhere to be found on Nike’s official site or app.

The unfortunate removal comes only days after Ja Morant was caught waving a gun on his friend’s (Davonte Pack) Instagram Live, which resulted in the 23-year-old athlete catching yet another suspension from the Memphis Grizzlies.

This isn’t the first time that Morant has been benched from all team activities. In March, he snagged an eight-game layoff after being seen flaunting a weapon inside a nightclub.

Following the occurrence, Morant apologized and was said to have sought counseling for his behavior, but he has since found himself having to offer up another admission for the same exact thing.

In a recent statement (provided by basketball insider Adrian Wojnarowski), the South Carolina native expressed,

“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”

Upon searching Nike’s virtual homes (and retailer Finish Line) for Morant’s exclusively-designed sneakers, viewers have reportedly gotten the “Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you’re looking for” memo. Morant’s t-shirts and jerseys seem to be the only items listed for the athlete.

However, some reports claim that they are discoverable on Nike’s SNKRS app, as well as a few other popular sports gear shops.

Morant also has a pair of his special-edition “Hunger” kicks slated to release on May 25, but many are questioning whether or not that’s to come.

While some have rumored that they’ve been pulled, most are saying that they are still sitting under the SNKRS’ soon-to-drop section.

At this time, no official word has been given from Nike on the status of the deal and/or its stance on the future of doing business with Ja Morant.
