Chance The Rapper Trends As Internet Users Debate The Appropriateness Of Him Dancing w/ Other Women At Carnival As A Married Man
Chicago native Chance The Rapper seems to have enjoyed his time at Carnival recently.
Several videos of The Big Day artist dancing at the Jamaican celebration began making their way around the internet, sparking a mass debate about married men dancing with other women.
Chance The Rapper, born Chancelor Bennett, 30, attended the festival which was held in Kingston, Jamaica from the 12th – the 18th of this month. In multiple videos, the rap star can be seen gleefully dancing behind different women. One video shows a woman donning a white one-piece, screaming before dancing on the Grammy Award winner. As a caption to her video, she wrote:
“CHANCE THE RAPPER said its his BIRTHDAY”
Another clip that seems to be the most controversial, features Chance attempting to keep his balance and composure while being propped up by his entourage. The woman in the clip wears nothing but a gold string bra and thong piece as she dances on the rapper. Many pointed out her ambiguous, but notable facial expression at the end of the dance.

As the videos gained traction, many internet users were quick to chime in. If you’re unfamiliar, Chance The Rapper married his longtime partner Kirsten Corley three years ago and shares two daughters with her. Just last year, Corley felt inclined to defend the musician amid claims he was repeatedly liking sexually explicit content of transgender people on Twitter.
While there has been no input from the celebrity wife on her husband’s recent Carnival trip, social media users had plenty to say. Some condemned Chance, questioning if he is still married or having problems in his relationship. Many others, however, defended the rap star. Users stated that “whine,” which is the grinding dance move seen in the videos, is simply part of Carnival culture and is harmless.
