Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Tour Projected To Outearn Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ Tour By $600M
Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour” could reportedly outearn Taylor Swift’s highly successful “Eras Tour” by a whopping $600 million.
Chart-topping singer/songwriter Beyoncé, 41, is set to begin her first solo tour in seven years on Wednesday, May 10 at Stockholm’s Friends Arena in Sweden.
The “Cuff It” hitmaker will begin her tour while 33-year-old Taylor Swift continues her 52 date concert tour, which reportedly broke Ticketmaster records with single day sales of two million.
However, Beyoncé’s 41 date tour, which ends in North America in September, could gross between $275 million and $2.57 billion from tickets alone — which surpassed the “Eras Tour’s” $1.9 billion projection.
As a result, the billionaire songstress could make nearly $2.2 billion from the tour, $600 million more than the $1.6 billion Taylor Swift could earn, reports state.
According to reports, the estimates are based on projected high numbers of fans buying tickets and high average ticket prices of around $700. VIP packages for the tour range from $3757 to $5000.
The estimate is also based on artists bringing in a huge share of merchandise proceeds, leaving them with 80 percent of tour revenues, minus expenses.
As we previously reported, some of Beyoncé’s fans are refusing to pay for her expensive shows in the United States, but that isn’t stopping them from attending the “Renaissance” tour. Instead, some fans have decided that it would be cheaper to fly to Europe for the show instead of buying tickets to attend in the states.
Beyonce Renaissance World Tour
Reportedly, a Dallas fan, Mercedes Arielle, took to Instagram to share that she saved money by her decision to travel to Stockholm for the “Renaissance” tour, instead of attending the show in Texas, also the hometown of Beyoncé. The fan reportedly bought VIP tickets to the Stockholm show for $366, while Dallas concertgoers spend up to $900. Arielle explained,
“Beyoncé is a ministry.”
Elaborating why she took the route she did to purchase the concert tickets, Arielle said,
“When I think about the things she is saying in her music about experiencing joy and celebrating black women? She made us feel empowered and capable and strong and worthy.”
She then bragged,
“Beyoncé is gonna sweat on me. That’s how close I am.”
The superstar officially confirmed a world tour in support of her seventh studio album “Renaissance” on February 1. The “Renaissance World Tour” is Beyoncé’s eighth concert tour. The tour will make stops in Europe, Canada, as well as the United States throughout the spring-fall season, ending on September 27.
