Antonio Brown Sued For More Than $1 Million For Allegedly Skipping Out On Tab From Celeb Jeweler
Antonio Brown has found himself at the center of another lawsuit.
Celebrity jeweler Shuki International is suing the former NFL star for more than $1 million. According to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles this week, Shuki claims that he gave Antonio Brown several pieces of jewelry back in 2022 with the understanding that the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver would pay him $1,095,000 for everything.
The jeweler has gained notoriety over the years for providing high-profile athletes, including Floyd Mayweather, with diamond jewelry.
Shuki allegedly gave Antonio Brown several pieces, including his renowned “Shuki International” diamond fingers, which the jeweler valued at $500,000 each. Brown also received a rose gold replica of the finger piece set with Black diamonds, a white gold bracelet, and a ring, according to Shuki.
The lawsuit claims that Brown received at least some of the things on February 24, 2022, and he pledged to pay the entire purchase price of around $1.1 million by December 1.
However, Brown allegedly never made good on his promise to pay.
Interestingly enough, Brown, who turned to rap after his career in the NFL, has a song called “Shuki Diamonds” that he released last year in honor of the famous jeweler.
And this is NOT the first time Brown has found himself in legal trouble for jewelry-related reasons. As previously reported, Ryan Kane, a reported Florida millionaire, previously filed a lawsuit against AB for allegedly selling him a fraudulent Richard Mille watch. Brown reportedly purchased the watch in Dubai for $200 but sold it to Kane for $160,000. In total, the man claimed he paid over $300,000. Kane said,
“He sold me a fake watch after his Rolling Loud performance. On the plane ride back he was showing me the watches and he was telling me he would sell one to me. He told me they were real.”
“So they next day I went to his house. He was trying to get me to buy more expensive watches. So I bought the watch. He wanted a lot more for it. We finally agreed to the $160K. I wired him the money the next morning.”
Kane allegedly found out the watch was fake when he went to get insurance on it. He tried to contact AB for a refund, but the athlete-turned-rapper reportedly ghosted him. Kane added,
“I sent him a text message that said ‘the watch you sold me was fake. I want my money back,’ and then he blocked me immediately. You wouldn’t block me unless you were guilty.”
